Hi, I'm Blake, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and the founder of First Sip Lactation.

I created First Sip Lactation because I believe every family deserves knowledgeable, compassionate, and judgment-free feeding support. Feeding your baby can be one of the most rewarding experiences of parenthood, but it can also come with unexpected challenges. My goal is to provide evidence-based guidance while meeting you exactly where you are—helping you feel confident, informed, and supported every step of the way.

My passion for lactation support is rooted in both professional training and personal experience. After my wife carried our second kiddo through reciprocal IVF, I successfully navigated relactation to breastfeed again. Experiencing the process firsthand gave me a unique understanding of the emotional and physical complexities families may face, allowing me to provide compassionate, individualized care grounded in both evidence and lived experience.

As a mama of three, I understand that every parenting journey is unique and that no two feeding experiences are ever the same. In addition to my work as an IBCLC, I have experience as a birth doula, giving me a deeper appreciation for the continuum of care from pregnancy and birth through the postpartum period. I also hold a bachelor’s degree in Integrative Healthcare, which has strengthened my commitment to evidence-based, whole-person care. I believe in supporting not just feeding, but the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of the entire family.

I welcome all families and proudly provide inclusive care for parents of every background, family structure, and feeding journey. Whether you're breastfeeding, chestfeeding, pumping, combination feeding, inducing lactation, relactating, or simply looking for reassurance, I'm here to help you meet your own feeding goals.
